The Western Boone junior high wrestling team hosted the North Montgomery Chargers on Tuesday evening. The Stars came out strong in the lower weights. Jace Anderson opened the night with a pin at 75 pounds, and Ty Williamson followed with a lightning-fast fall in just 18 seconds at 80 to give the Stars early momentum. After a forfeit at 85, North Montgomery answered back, and the teams began trading wins. The Stars earned key victories from Gunner Shirley (95), Carter Crahen (100), and TJ McKinney (106) to stay in the hunt. However, the Chargers gained ground in the middle weights, picking up several consecutive wins from 113 through 144 pounds to take control of the team score. Western Boone mounted a late push. Silas Boggs recorded a pin at 150, and Kamden Talbert added a decision at 175. In the upper weights, Connor Palmer delivered a big fall at 190, followed by back-to-back victories from Drake Wagner (215) and Caleb Douglas (275) to cap an impressive closing stretch. In a thrilling showdown, Western Boone surged ahead to claim a hard-fought 54–45 victory over North Montgomery. In exhibition action, Western Boone saw several wrestlers gain valuable mat time. Brooklyn Bailey earned a pin, Levi Nelson secured a 3-0 decision, and Connor Palmer added another fall in extra action. SJ Hitch dropped a tough match by pin, while Jayden Vaughn and Porter White also competed in hard-fought bouts. The exhibition matches provided important experience as the Stars continue to develop depth throughout the lineup. Western Boone will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Danville to take on the Warriors. Wresting starts at 5:30 PM.
