Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone 8th grade girls basketball team traveled to Speedway last night to face the Sparkplugs. The Stars came out hot on offense with their best first quarter of the year scoring 13 and holding the Sparkplugs to 3. The Stars stayed hot in the 2nd scoring 11 but the Sparkplugs fought back with offensive rebounds and scored 9 of their own. The Stars lead 24-12 at half. The Stars offensive stalled in the 2nd half with too many turnovers allowing the Sparkplugs to match the Stars scoring. The Stars held on to win 40-27. The Stars were lead in scoring by Ady Nicley 14, Ella Oakley 11, Molly Rausch 7, Bryar King 4, Khloe Dunavent and Harper Nance each had 2. The 7th grade Lady Stars defeated the Speedway Spark Plugs with a final score of 24 to 18. Leading the charge for Western Boone was Bella Edwards, who lit up the scoreboard with 14 points, while Kora Kistler added 7, and Jade Hobson contributed 3. Brooklyn Tatman, Chloe McKinney, Lexi Lenehan, and Sully Smith were vital on the defensive and rebounding side keeping the Spark Plugs at bay with some key minutes. With the road win the team is now 7-1 on the season, and looking to capture another victory this week as they travel to see the North Montgomery Chargers on Thursday, 2/12
