The Western Boone 8th grade girls basketball team was back in action last night hosting the Southmont Mounties. Molly Rausch controlled the tip and the Stars were off outscoring the Mounties 11-1 in the first quarter. Bryar King had several steals and the Stars defense played tough. The Stars headed into half up 19-6. The Stars offense went cold in the second half but the defense continued to control the Mounties. Molly Rausch and Katheryn Gott controlled the boards and the Stars win 29-12. The Stars were lead in scoring by Ady Nicley 17, Bryar King & Harper Nance each had 4, Avery Fields & Ella Oakley each had 2 7th Grade In a dominant performance, the Western Boone 7th grade Lady Stars soared past the Southmont Mounties with a 40 to 19 victory. Bella Edwards led the offense with 16 points, while Jayden Paris scored 13, Kora Kistler had 5, Quinn Cunningham 4, Sully Smith 2, and Jade Hobson 2. On the defensive end, Brooklyn Tatman, Lexi Lenehan, and Skyler Yarger all played pivotal roles, especially in securing key rebounds and stops. With this win, the Lady Stars keep their strong season momentum heading into their next matchup tonight Vs the Tri-West Bruins
