The Western Boone 8th grade girls basketball team hosted Frankfort Hotdogs in their home opener. The first quarter was back and forth but the stars managed to take 7-4 lead. The stars had a big second quarter fueled by tough defense, leading to a big offensive quarter lead by Ella Oakley and heading into half up 18-4. Frankfort fought back and outscored the stars in the 3rd but the Stars responded in the 4th for a 36-22 win. Ady Nicley lead in scoring with 15, Ella Oakley had 11, Harper Nance added 5, Molly Rausch had 2 and several rebounds, Khloe Dunavent had 2, and Bryar King had 1. The 7th grade girls’ basketball team came out of the locker room ready to play Vs. the Frankfort Hotdogs on Tuesday night walking away with a 51-27 victory. The Stars scored on their opening possession and never looked back. Kora Kistler dominated in the post early scoring 14 points of her game high 22 in the first 6 minutes. The team played great team defense throughout, making every shot contested and limiting second chance opportunities. Offensively the girls moved the ball well, found open players, got into transition, and finished at the rim helping to extend their lead in all 4 quarters. Kora Kistler led the Stars with 22 points, followed by Bella Edwards with 17, Jayden Paris with 9, Quinn Cunningham with 2, and Chloe Mckinney with 1. The 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams will be back on the court this Thursday, 1/22/26, on the road vs. the Lebanon Tigers.
