By Jeremy Dexter | Jan 21, 2026 8:21 AM
Western Boone made the trip to Greencastle on Tuesday night and came home with a 48–36 win over the Tiger Cubs. The Stars came out strong right away in the upper weights. Eli Ballentine opened the dual with a pin in just 35 seconds at 175 pounds. Beau Sanders followed with another quick fall at 190, and Cole Hurliman kept it going at 215 to give Western Boone an early lead. Greencastle answered back at heavyweight and picked up points through a stretch of forfeits, keeping the dual close on the scoreboard. Once the match hit the middle of the lineup, Western Boone took control again. Colton Mitchell needed only 16 seconds to secure a pin at 132 pounds, swinging the momentum back to the Stars. Isaiah Garland added another fall at 138, and Lucas Garland followed with a pin at 144 after a tough match. Jacob Anderson capped the run with a 26-second pin at 150, giving Western Boone some breathing room. Greencastle closed the night with wins at 157 and 165, but the early bonus points and key pins were enough for Western Boone to lock up the road victory. Western Boone will be back on the mat Thursday, January 22, when the Stars travel to Lebanon to take on the Tigers. Wrestling begins at 6:00 pm.
