7th and 8th Grade Basketball teams handle Mounties in MAC action

The Seventh Grade Stars traveled to South Montgomery on Thursday evening with high expectations and delivered an impressive performance. They secured their second road win of the week with a decisive 58-16 victory, maintaining a strong lead from start to finish. Casey Richardson excelled in distributing the ball, while Bryson Potter, Wyatt Redman, and Corbin Eckert consistently scored in the paint. Blake Stokes was outstanding on defense and effective at finishing at the basket. WeBo’s relentless defense throughout the game resulted in numerous transition opportunities, with nine players contributing to the score. Scorers: Redman: 17; Stokes: 9; Dunk: 8; Eckert: 6; Kinsler: 6; Potter: 4; Pastore: 4; Richardson: 2; Dexter: 2 In 7th B Team action, the Stars triumphed over the Mounties with a score of 13-8. Jackson Gick led all scorers with five points, including a three-pointer. Wyatt Delp added four points in his limited playing time, while Jase Young and Chase Buchanan each scored a bucket. 8th Grade Summary: The Western Boone 8th Grade Boys “A” Team improved to 2-0 on the season with an impressive 58-39 victory over the Southmont Mounties. The Stars came out strong on both ends of the floor, using balanced scoring and dominant rebounding to take control early. Jackson Potter led the offensive charge with a standout performance, putting up 25 points to lead all scorers. Tate Fields added 12 points, while Anderson contributed 8 in a well-rounded team effort. On the boards, Devol, Palmer, and Fields set the tone, each pulling down multiple rebounds to keep possessions alive and limit Southmont’s second-chance opportunities. Additional scoring came from Harrison (4), Wood (4), Devol (3), Demaree (2), and Palmer (2) as the Stars showed depth across the roster. “B” Team Report The Western Boone 8th Grade Boys “B” Team opened their season with a 22-20 win over the Southmont Mounties. Crew Gallimore led the Stars with 7 points, while Dillon Meyer added 6 in a tight contest that came down to the wire. The Stars’ defense proved to be the difference, coming up with key stops when it mattered most to secure the victory. Other scorers included Larew (2), Wood (5), and Miller (2) in a balanced effort. It was a strong team win to start the season. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams will travel to Frankfort on Saturday for the Monon Classic.
