Panther Football falls to New Prairie

Friday night under the lights delivered a high-scoring affair, but unfortunately the Panthers came up short, falling 44-35 to New Prairie. The offensive output was certainly there for Washington — they moved the ball, found the end zone multiple times, and kept the game within reach. The Panthers showed heart in every quarter. On the flip side, the defense had a tough night keeping New Prairie from making big plays. The early deficit proved costly, and although Washington chipped away, they were unable to completely close the gap. What stood out: The Panthers’ offense delivered on multiple drives, showing they could score and respond under pressure. The team showed resilience: after a rough start, Washington battled back into contention. Despite that, the early 14-point hole and some defensive breakdowns proved too much. The Cougars demonstrated efficient scoring and made key plays at pivotal moments.
