The scoreboard may have read 13–34, but Washington’s Panthers made it clear: they’re not here to roll over. From the opening whistle, the Panthers defense came out swinging—holding Elkhart scoreless for most of the first half and forcing key stops deep in their own territory. Offensively, Washington pushed inside the Lions’ 30-yard line twice and cracked the red zone once, but couldn’t convert those drives into points. Still, they kept the game tight, trailing just 0–6 at halftime. Elkhart opened the second half with a methodical scoring drive to go up 13–0, but Washington answered fast. On their first play from scrimmage, Young connected with Lineberry for a 75-yard strike that electrified the sideline and cut the lead to 13–7. Fatigue set in late, and Elkhart capitalized with a flurry of second-half scores. But the final margin doesn’t tell the full story. This Panthers squad showed heart, discipline, and a refusal to back down. They proved they can punch with anyone—and they’re not showing up to participate. They’re showing up to compete. To fight. To win
