The Panthers’ season came to an end Tuesday night with an 81–44 loss to Marian in sectional play, closing the book on a year defined by growth, grit, and the kind of lessons that last longer than a scoreboard. Washington battled from tip to buzzer, leaning on the same resilience that carried them through a challenging schedule. Even as Marian’s offense found its rhythm early, the Panthers stayed connected, kept competing, and continued to trust each other—hallmarks of a group that refused to fold no matter the circumstances. This season wasn’t measured only in wins. It was measured in maturity. In players stepping into new roles. In young guys learning the speed and physicality of varsity basketball. In a team that kept showing up, kept working, and kept representing their school with pride.
