The Junior High Lady Mohawks put up a determined fight but came away with a tough loss after three hard-fought sets against Knightstown. Set 1 started out rough for the Mohawks, but strong serving from Mollie Rouse helped shift the momentum. Despite the early deficit, the Mohawks rallied and made things difficult for the Lady Panthers before ultimately falling 17-25. Set 2 began even more challenging, with the Mohawks trailing 1-9. However, they refused to back down. With clutch serving from Remi Hewson, relentless hustle by Caroline Kuhn, and key digs from Evan England, the team mounted an impressive comeback to tie the score. The Panthers pushed back, but the Mohawks held strong and took the set 25-22. Set 3 followed a similar script, with the Mohawks again starting slow. Despite working through their frustrations and keeping the match close, they came up just short, dropping the final set 12-15. Wryn Miller, Kiya Scott, Azalia Rader, and Gracee McConnell also made valuable contributions throughout the match. The Lady Mohawks will now turn their attention to the Shelby County Tournament, where they’ll face Southwestern in the first round. That match is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 AM at Morristown.
