Jr. High Boys Tennis Falls 2-3 to New Pal in Season Opener

The Mohawks traveled to New Pal tonight to open their season with a match against the Dragons. New Pal was a new addition to the Mohawks' schedule this year, as the Mohawk Jr. High Tennis teams have not played New Pal in around 10 years. The Dragons had 38 players on their team, and so many of the Mohawks were able to play a few matches. Winners of tonight's match were: Varsity 1 Singles - Noah Leap with a score of 8-6. Leap fell 3-6 during the match, but stayed in it mentally and physically to win the last 5 games and his match. Varsity 2 Singles - Harrison Fischer with a score of 8-1. Fischer sailed through the Dragons #2 with ease. JV 1 Singles - Tanner Cockerham with a score of 6-2. Cockerham played a quick match to come out on top of his match. JV Doubles - Austin Lemmons and Wyatt Myers won their second match of the night, playing a JV Doubles position together. Other scores for the night: Varsity: 3 Singles - Austin Lemmons with a score of 3-8 1 Doubles - Luke Thomas and Ollee Kuhns with a score of 5-8 2 Doubles - Trent Allen and Lucas Lemmons with a score of 6-8 JV: 2 Singles - Deegan Smith with a score of 3-6 3 Singles - Max Leising with a score of 2-6 1 Doubles - Garrett Stocklin and Karsten Coy with a score of 3-6 2 Doubles - Kiefer Cockerham and Wyatt Myers with a score of 1-6 3 Doubles - Hunter James and Eli Biller with a score of 2-6 4 Doubles - Tanner Cockerham and Kiefer Cockerham with a score of 1-4 5 Doubles - Deegan Smith and Max Leising with a score of 5-7 6 Doubles - Garrett Stocklin and Karsten Coy with a score of 0-6 7 Doubles - Hunter James and Eli Biller with a score of 1-6 The Mohawks are back on the road again on Tuesday as they travel to play the Columbus Central Chargers at Donner Park in Columbus.
