The Jr. High Lady Mohawks hosted the Triton Tigers Thursday night. While both teams came away with losses, there were plenty of bright spots and signs of continued growth. 7th Grade – 5-2 Overall | 3-1 MHC The 7th grade Lady Mohawks held very nice leads in both sets, but passing and communication errors crept in and allowed Triton to battle back and take both games. Despite the loss, these girls continue to show more knowledge and understanding of the game with every match. Laila Williams and Adeline Scheele led the team in serving, with Adeline recording 4 aces. Harper Knepp and Lettie AmRhein were aggressive at the net, while Willow Meadows-Alyea continues to improve in all areas of the game. 8th Grade – 3-4 Overall | 1-3 MHC The 8th grade Lady Mohawks fought hard through 3 games. Communication errors and strong serving from Triton at the beginning of the third set made for a challenging comeback attempt, but the girls continued to battle. Azalia Rader, Caroline Kuhn, and Libby Hash served very well, while Mary Kuhn, Gracee McConnell, and Caroline Kuhn played tough at the net. Leighton Everette also made an awesome save to keep a rally going. The Jr. High Lady Mohawks return to action next week for three games. First up is Monday at home vs. Edinburgh at 6:00 PM in the Elementary Gym. Come out and support our girls! 🏐💙
