The Lady Mohawks stayed home for a match with a talented Oldenburg Academy girls tennis team. The ladies remain unbeaten on the season at 5-0 with a huge 3-2 win over the Twisters. #1 singles Riley Thurston got things started with a 6-4 , 6-0 win over Lilly Vanderpohl. #3 singles Malia Murphy also rolled in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 over Campbell Miles. #2 doubles Hannah Rouse and Leah Kuhn lost 6-4, 6-1 to Ali Nobbe and Mary Kara Wanstrath. #2 singles Ava Leising lost 6-1, 6-1 to a very good player in Frankie Fry. That set up the deciding match at #1 doubles as Emerson Lindsey and Jackie Corlett won the first set 6-2 over Hailey Hoffman and Ashley Hunter. The Twister duo roared back in the second set to take it 6-4. In the third set, Emerson and Jackie proved too much as they rolled 6-2 to earn the varsity team win!! JV Action Waldron 4 Oldenburg 0 Madeline Walker came back to win 8-6 over Emma Hunter. Taylor Stewart cruised 6-0 over Ellie Paul. Ruby England dominated 6-0 over Elsa Schneider. Kate Kuhn also rolled 6-0 over Ava Legge. Next up for the Mohawks a trip to sectional foe Shelbyville on Monday at 5pm!!
