Lady Mohawks improve to 4-0 on young season with conference 4-1 win over Southwestern!

The Lady Mohawks came back home on Tuesday night to capture a 4-1 win over Southwestern Shelby. The ladies are now 4-0 and 2-0 in conference play to start the season! #1 singles Riley Thurston started slow winning the first set 7-5, then dominated second set 6-0 over Kelsey Stringer. #2 singles Ava Leising rolled in straight sets 6-1 ,6-2 over Saoia Villanueva. #3 singles Malia Murphy cruised 6-0. 6-1 over Paige Riggs. #1 doubles Emerson Lindsey and Jackie Corlett dominated 6-0, 6-1 over Callie Beck and Hayden Ramey. #2 doubles Madeline Walker and Hannah Rouse came out on fire winning 6-1 in first set , then the SW duo of Claire Utley and Macy Murray roared back for a 6-4 , 6-4 to take the last match from the Mohawks. JV Action Ruby England played two matching , winning one 6-0 and losing one 8-4. Maddie Hungerford got another win 8-3. Doubles freshman duos of Leah Kuhn and Kate Kuhn and Taylor Stewart and Lorelei Wagner both won their matches. Next up for the Mohawks home match with a tough Oldenburg Academy team on Thursday at 5pm.
