The Lady Mohawks opened conference play at home against Morristown and came away with a 5-0 to improve to 2-0 on the young season! The ladies overcame struggling with some serving and groundstrokes to pull through in the end! #1 singles Riley Thurston rolled in straight sets 6-2,6-3 over Katie Theobald. #2 singles Malia Murphy started slow in first losing 4-6, then roared back to win the next two sets 6-1, 6-3. This was Malia's first varsity match at #2 singles. We were playing without Ava Leising who has a family event this weekend. #3 singles Leah Kuhn got her second career victory as a freshman 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 over Remi Frey. #1 doubles SENIORS Emerson Lindsey and Jackie Corlett looked impressive in winning 6-0, 6-1 over Emma Waggoner and Emmy Bowyer. #2 doubles Madeline Walker and Hannah Rouse got their first win together with a long 4-6, 6-2,7-5 win over Remi Spicklemire and Chloe Theobald. JV ACTION Lady Mohawks and Lady Yellow Jackets tie 2-2! JV Doubles Kate Kuhn and Taylor Stewart lost 8-4 to Ellie Gooding and Emma Stephens. JV 1 Singles Ruby England won 8-4 over Maile Vitz JV 2 singles Maddie Hungerford won 8-6 over Ellie Gooding. JV 3 singles Lorelie Wagner lost 8-0 to Emma Stephens. Next up for the Mohawks is their first road trip to Rushville on Monday for 5pm start.
