2025 was a season filled with ups and down for the Waldron Mohawks volleyball team. Injuries wreaked havoc on both the JV & Varsity squads this season. BUT, that did not diminish the growth both squads showed to end the 2025 season. While the Lady Mohawks lost to the eventual Sectional champion & MHC champ North Decatur in round one of the 2025 IHSAA Sectional, the Mohawks performed well down the stretch and capped off much-improved 2025. Seniors Evelyn Campbell, Syrissa Dodd, Jordyn Kropp, Emerson Lindsey, and Lauren Strehle capped off their volleyball careers for the Lady Mohawks volleyball program. The team finished 7-21 overall, improving from the two wins in 2024, and went through stretches of tremendous play. This was capped with a huge week in which the Lady Mohawks took down MHC foes Hauser & South Decatur on back-to-back nights at home, then went on to beat sectional foe Tri & future MHC rival Brown County later in the week, pushing their winning streak to four games. However, tough competition at the Hope Heritage Classic ended the streak, but provided quality opposition that helped the Lady Mohawks down the stretch. Emerson Lindsey achieved a personal milestone during the 2025 campaign, as she accumulated her 1,000th dig against Madison in the Hope Heritage Tourney. She joins elite company in the annals of Waldron volleyball history for this accomplishment. Lindsey joined newcomer, freshman Maleah Williams, on the 1st-team All-MHC for 2025. Maleah Williams had an outstanding season statistically as one of Waldron's best outside hitters. Ashlyn Ramsey & Riley Thurston also received Honorable Mention honors for All-MHC. The JV squad also performed well much of the 2025 season with a very young nucleus. The excitement heading into 2026 is evident by the play and the energy that these groups provided this season. The class of 2026 seniors are an outstanding group of young ladies that left their mark on the Lady Mohawk volleyball program. Lauren Strehle & Syrissa Dodd served as team captains and were great leaders for this team in 2025. Their leadership, their constant positivity and encouragement of teammates left an imprint on the program. Jordyn Kropp was always a spark of positivity and energy that resonated with her teammates. She could ALWAYS be counted on for her energy. Evelyn Campbell & Emerson Lindsey both were hampered with injuries during 2025. Lindsey was still able to achieve All-MHC honors and hit the 1000 dig threshold. Meanwhile, Evelyn Campbell persevered through her injuries and performed well down the stretch in big games for the Lady Mohawks. She was also someone that could be counted on to bring energy and tenacity to the court. The program is headed in a great direction. 2026 & beyond look bright for the Lady Mohawks! The coaching staff of Nate Juniper, Rita Rouse, Jasmine Shipman, & Stacy Rouse were a huge part of the growth of this program in 2025. We look forward to seeing what the future will bring for our volleyball program!
