The Lady Alices earn another win tonight, scoring 4 goals against the Sullivan Golden Arrows. This is their 2nd consecutive win in a row. The Lady Alices try to extend this to a 3-game win streak to end the regular season with a positive win-loss record before entering sectional play, going down to Evansville Reitz on Wednesday evening. The scoring tonight was well-balanced from different positions, players, and grades. Senior Kenzie Doerner, Senior Maddy Mitchell, Junior JJ Riggs, and Freshman Azaria Easley all find the score sheet tonight. The assist column was similar. Junior Quinett notches 2 assists, Freshman Azaria Easley also gets an assist, and Freshman Ella Wanke gets her first assist of her high school career playing as a defender. "It's always great to see multiple names for the goals and assist columns, and all of the players have places and roles to get onto the stat sheet somehow with the way we play. To be honest, I was extremely nervous coming into this game because I rewarded the team with a 3-day weekend, giving them Friday off. I thought that they might come out flat and not be switched on. But the girls came out and got the job done and scored some goals for fun, picking up where we left off." "Ella Wanke is tonight's player of the game. She's transitioned to defense this year, and she's done an extremely great job tonight and on the season as a whole. On top of her defensive work, she also got rewarded with her first-ever career assist in high school, so that's extremely exciting given that she's a freshman. I can't wait to see how the entire freshman group grows as people and as players."
