Boys Soccer got a victory on our home pitch on Thursday night as they went up against Evansville Bosse with a final score of 8-1. Thursday night was also senior night and saw all ten of our seniors on the boys soccer team in the starting eleven. The Alices came out with high energy from the first whistle but had to wait on the goals to come. The first score happened in the 17th minute, as Morgan Horst put away an excellent cross coming through the box from Jean Josaphat. The second score of the game for the Alices came off of a Lucas Klingler free kick in the 26th minute with Lucas seeing an opening in the goal and putting it straight into the back of the net. An unfortunate miscommunication lead to an Evansville Bosse score before the half. The first half ended with the Alices leading 2-1. The second half opened strong with the boys in green going hard from the first kickoff. Jonah Turpin would find the back of the net in the 57th minute cleaning up a rebound near the six yard box for his second goal of the year. Claudson Thomas would add another in the 57th minute after the Alices won the ball back off of a Bosse kickoff. The game would then be delayed momentarily by the referees as the Alices and the Bulldogs both saw players sent off with red cards. After resumption of the game Gera Silva would add goals in the 60th, 64th, and 75th minutes for his hat trick on the night and bringing his goal tally to 10 goals on the season. Senior, Morgan Horst, would add his second goal on the night in the final seconds of the game. Paxton Smith had 4 saves on the night. Assists on goals were from Jean Josaphat, Ian Lancaster, and Jonah Turpin. Gera Silva took home the man of the match award for the game with his hat trick and very impressive second half play. To start the game with ten seniors and have to come on as a reserve just shows Gera's hunger and determination to move the ball in the attack to help the Alices achieve victory.
