The Lady Alices suffered a second consecutive defeat to county rivals South Knox with a 3-1 score. Despite having 14 shots on target with 19 shots total, the Lady Alices couldn't find the net as often as South Knox to salvage a result other than a loss against the Lady Spartans. The Lady Alices drop to a 6-6 record heading into a week where they're up against 2 conference opponents. They hit the road on Tuesday for Evansville Central, with kickoff at 6:30. They return home on Thursday night for senior night & boys' and girls' doubleheader vs. Evansville Bosse—Kickoff at 6 with senior night recognition between games. "We played the game the correct way, our way. We dominated at least 70% of possession and put the ball in the right areas. When it mattered most, we couldn't get enough on a shot, or we got into an extremely rough patch of sand that covered the middle-left areas of South Knox's field, affecting shots all evening. It's something we simply have to adjust to, as not every game is going to be a game where we have the home facilities that we have. The game had everything you'd want out of a county rivalry game: 2 different play styles, one team trying to possess the ball and create, and the other team sitting in and playing off the counterattack. Coaches fighting for calls to go their way, tactical changes, formation changes, good moments and bad moments for both teams, parents trying to create the 12th person on the field to give their team an advantage in a spiritual sense. Everything you could've asked for in a county rivals matchup was on display, and it had an atmosphere like it was a sectional final. I think that's what matters most for both teams is being able to have that likeness of an 'every touch of the ball matters game' while both teams are preparing for their respective sectionals." Stats: Shots on goal/Shots - 14/19 Javelin James with 10 saves Goal in the 15th minute of the 2nd half by Brylee Quinett.
