Lincoln boys soccer brought home their second victory in three days. The Alices defeated Rivet 3–0 in a home match at the Alice Soccer pitch. The boys created large amounts of opportunities and chances but only closed out on three this evening. The scoring opened up in the 38th minute with a goal from Gera Silva, assisted by Lucas Klingler. Coming out of halftime the boys knew they would need to add to that scoring tally to hold off the Patriots. A second goal was added in the 58th minute off of a Morgan Horst finish with the assist coming from Lukas Lang. Our third goal of the evening was scored in the 74th minute by Claudson Thomas with his volley off of a corner kick after it had been hit in the air off a failed clearance. Goalkeeper, Paxton Smith, had 5 saves on the evening. Man of the Match award went to Lucas Klingler. Lucas worked to make the assist happen on our first goal to open up the scoring. Lucas donned the captain’s armband tonight and represented well. He also played with an impressive force centrally for the team and even put up four shots of his own. Collectively the Alices registered 20 shots. Those getting shots were: - David Ramirez: 3 shots - Lucas Klingler: 4 shots - Morgan Horst: 3 shots, 1 goal - Gera Silva: 2 shots, 1 goal - Jude Clark: 3 shots - Claudson Thomas: 2 shots, 1 goal - Calvin Doggett: 1 shot - Jonah Turpin: 2 shots The boys roughed through things to a three goal victory and are happy to close the day on that but know that they left chances on the doorstep and look to build on that as they prepare for an away game matchup with South Knox on Saturday night at 7:00 PM.
