What an incredible night for our program. We’ve had close matches with Memorial in the past, but I knew coming into tonight that we were going to have a shot at a win. I can’t express enough pride in the way our guys competed. Reid got us started with a convincing win that looked more like the player we knew we had at 3 singles. Miller/Burgess had a slow start, but got things going in the 2nd set and closed out a pivotal tiebreaker. Carter was hot out of the gate and sort of let his foot off the gas and his opponent gained some momentum, but I know the competitor he is and I never doubted for a second that he was going to pull out the win for his team. Even though we took losses at 1 singles and 1 doubles, they all played well against really talented players and those matches will make them better players the rest of the year. Our JV looked great tonight and collected their 3rd straight win over Memorial. We’re going to enjoy tonight, but be ready to go back to work tomorrow.
