Vincennes Lincoln High School

We had some outstanding performances at the sectionals in Princeton last night. Lauren Story and Kaitlyn Johnson both took third place finishes securing their spot at regionals next week. In the 100 m. dash, Story ran 13.27. In the mile, Johnson ran 5:49. Lillian Marley and Alivia Eaton both finished fourth in the sectional, but qualified for regionals by the 3-participant standard, which qualified the next 3 best performances from the 4 sectionals. Marley ran the 800 in a personal best of 2:30, taking the first spot as the standard qualifer. Eaton threw a 102-1 in the discus, also taking the first spot as the standard qualifier. Story also placed sixth in the long jump. The girls competed with focus and heart at the sectionals. I couldn't be more proud of them. Some of our girls finished their season, and I am very happy for each of them that came out and trained, put in time and work, and completed great seasons. I'm also grateful that we have a young team, and a great group of 8th grade athletes coming up. We are excited looking ahead to being stronger next year.
