The Lincoln girls track team had some stand-out performances and many season PRs in their 7th place overall finish at Warrior Invite. Lauren Story won the long jump with 15'4"; Story took 2nd in the 100 m. and 3rd in the 200 m. dash. Story was part of the 1600 meter relay team that was 2nd, along with Ella Wanke, Kaitlyn Johnson and Lillian Marley. Alivia Eaton was another top finisher taking 2nd in the discus (89-06) and 5th in the shot put (27-01). Lillian Marley was 4th in the mile with a 6:01, while Kaitlyn Johnson took 6th with 6:06. Johnson also placed 5th in the 800 with a 2:37. Ella Wanke was 7th in the 100m. hurdles and 8th in the 400 with a 1:07. Kaylyn Ozment was 8th in the 2-mile with a 14:10. Overall, the effort from the Alices was exceptional across the board. Many of these times are personal bests for our runners, as well as some unmentioned personal bests. I am very pleased with their effort, sportsmanship, and performances this week. The team is training great and we are looking forward to the next month of competing.
