The Firehawks Athletic Department is excited to announce our high school volleyball coaching staff for the 2023-2024 school year-- Head Coach Gabrielle Nave and Assistant Coach Mackenzie Smith. See below for more information on our coaches! Hello everyone! My name is Gabrielle Nave, and I am happy to serve as the Head Volleyball Coach, for VCP, for the '23-'24 season. Volleyball has been a passion of mine since I was in 6th grade. I played for Southport Middle School in grades 6-8. When I moved schools for high school, my high school did not have a volleyball team established and I had to find ways to play after school and on the weekends. While in college, at THE Purdue University, I was excited to play intramural volleyball all four years. This is not my first experience coaching, as I was the Assistant Volleyball Coach for VCP for the 21'-22' season, before taking a break to have my son...which I am sure you will see running around at practices and games! Go Firehawks! Mackenzie Smith has 4 years of experience coaching volleyball at the middle school, high school, and AAU level. Coach Smith additionally has two years of experience coaching AAU basketball. Coach Smith herself played volleyball and basketball for 12 years and 11 years, respectively, as a setter, libero, and point guard. Coach Smith is dedicated to fostering teamwork, positive attitude, and strength, both mental and physical, in the athletes she coaches. She is excited about the opportunity to continue to build the VCP Athletics program this year. Go Firehawks!
