The Indians were home last night for the TEC meet and their last home meet of the year and came away with several PR performances as we head into the Sectional meets with the girls getting it started next Tuesday at Delta followed by the boys running at Delta next Thursday. In the boys meet there were a lot of kids running events that they hadn't ran before and every single person stepped in and did their best. Landen Dickmann in his final home meet of his career got things started in the 110mh and ran his 3rd fastest time of the year and placed 7th. Landen then lined up in a very fast 300mh race and ran to a 11th place finish and his second best time of the year. Oscar Rena ran a new best time in the 100m dash with a time of 12.99. Since the beginning of the season Oscar has taken over a second off of his time because he has been one that puts in the work to keep getting better. Josiah Bowers had one goal in mind for the meet and that was to run a sub 6 minute mile for the first time. Josiah knew exactly what he needed to do and crossed the finish line in 15th place and a time of 5:57.04. Alec Spence was seeded 6th in the 400 and came out of the blocks and ran his 3rd best time of the year and placed 4th to give the team some momentum going into the rest of the meet. Conner Walser set a new PR in the 300mh and placed 3rd for the Indians. Not only did Conner set a new PR he inched closer to the 300mh school record set by Tanner Spence in 2019. The 4x400 relay team finished no worse than 2nd place this year and going into the TEC meet was seeded second by 4 seconds and a good Centerville team right behind them but Alec Spence, Colton Emrick, Jackson Cowper and Conner Walser put the hammer down and finished out the night with a 1st place finish in one of the most exciting finishes in the 4x400 in a long time. The girls team might be small but they continue to get better and score points against the larger teams they they are competing against. Maegan Dickmann had a career best night as she set new PR's in both the 100mh and the 300mh. Maegan finished the 100mh in 6th place and with her time of 18.70 has taken nearly two seconds off of her time since the beginning of the year. Maegan then lined up for the 300mh and placed 9th for the Indians but impressive was she set a new PR by 1 and has taken 10 seconds off her time from the beginning of the year. Campbell Kerns lined up with Maegan in the 100mh and ran her best race of her career placing 9th for the Indians. Campbell took off nearly one second from the time she ran a week ago at the Randolph County Meet. Campbell didn't have her best night in long jump but she was still able to place in the top 10 with a 10th place finish. Camille Helmick also set a big PR in the 300mh as she took three seconds off of her previous best and placed 11th for the Indians with a time of 1:06.60. Ava Jefferis ran the distance for the girls as she competed in both the 1600 and the 800m races and she came away with a 7th place finish in the 1600 then followed it up with a 11th place finish in a very fast 800m race.
