Wednesday, April 23: Union City Junior High baseball at Randolph Southern with a 16-2 win. Outstanding pitching from the trio of 7th grader Yader Pichardo Juarez, 8th grader Jet Thacker, and 7th grader Reid Kerns. 6th grader Josh Lutz was solid behind home plate catching the entire game. They pitched 5 innings giving up 2 unearned runs and walking only 2. Their strike % was well over 60%! Offensively the Indians were hot! Josh Lutz had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s, Yader had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, 7th grader Joseth Acebedo Calderon had a hit and an RBI, 6th grader Cruz Barbor had a walk and an RBI, Jet Thacker had a hit, 2 walks and an RBI, 7th grader Andy Weiss had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s, Reid Kerns had a hit, a walk, and an RBI, and 8th grader Noah Hill had a hit and an RBI. The JH Baseball Indians goes to 1-0 and will travel to Tri on Friday for a 5:30 game.
