The Indians Cross Country teams were in action on Tuesday for the Randolph County meet and the final time they would be running at home this season. After the meet was finished there were 2 Indians who ran their best times ever on the home course and one runner who set a new PR for her career. In the girls race Ava Jefferis, Campbell Kerns and Kara Walser lined up to battle girl rest of the girls in the county to see who would be taking the top spot as County Champion. Ava Jefferis lead the way for the Indians placing 4th with a time of 22:29 and just 13 seconds from the second place spot. With this being Ava's final time running at home she put together a great race and ran a new PR for the course in front of her friends and family who were there. Kara Walser was the next Indian to cross the finish line placing 18th with a time of 29:16 and a new PR for the season and 1 minute and 34 seconds faster than she ran less than a month ago on the home course. This was a big step in the right direction for Walser as she has been battling hip issues for most of the season. We look to see Kara continue having a good great finish to the season. Campbell Kerns was next for the Lady Indians crossing the finish line in 20th place with a time of 33:15. Kerns just missed her PR for the course but was able to do what she has all season and that is be consistent and stay healthy so she can continue to help push the rest of the girls. In the boys race it was Jackson Liss lined up for the Indians against the guys that he has raced against most of the season. Liss had his 3rd best race of the season and his best race on the home course by 32 seconds. Jackson crossed the finish line in 29th place with a time of 26:04 and was just 30 seconds away from his season PR which is impressive with it him running so well on the home course. With the next two meets being TEC and Sectional we know Jackson will improve his time even more with practice and how tough the next two meets will be. The Indians are back in action once again October 12th for TEC meet at Centerville beginning at 9:00am. We really want to thank everyone that made this years home cross country meets possible because without you we wouldn't have been able to do it. There were many people who were willing to lend a hand when it was needed and help get the course ready. None of your help went unnoticed and we want to thank you!
