The Indian Cross Country teams traveled to Centerville Saturday morning for the Bulldog Invite and not only battled the other teams but also had to deal with one of the warmest meets of the season! Campbell Kerns, Kara Walser and Ava Jefferis lined up for the girls race to get things started. Ava Jefferis lead the way for the Indians finishing 3rd with a time of 22:29 and battling with the lead pack the whole race. While this wasn't Ava's best race of the year it was a big confidence boost as the teams head towards the championship part of the season. Campbell Kerns was the next Indian to finish and she did by running her best race of the season and a new PR. Kerns finished 16th with a time of 30:45. Kara Walser was next finishing just behind Kerns placing 17th with a time of 31:14. After battling some pains last meet Walser was able to get back on track and have a solid run. Jackson Liss lined up for the Indians in the Boys race and had a great first two miles and was on pace for a new PR, then was struck by the heat in a bad way. Liss was able to battle his way to a 33rd place finish with a time of 28:51. The Indians are back in action next Saturday at Connersville for the Connersville Invitational.
