Indians run season best at Greenville

By Justin Daniels | Sep 1, 2024 10:16 AM

The Indian teams traveled to Greenville on Saturday for the Treaty City Invitational and when it was all over they had their best meet of the year. Jackson Liss got the Indians started after going after the girls in the indiana meets this year. Liss ran his best race of the year and set a new PR finishing with a time of 27:41 placing 166th. With his finish Jackson has taken five minutes off of his time since the first meet of the season. In the girls race Ava Jefferis, Campbell Kerns and Kara Walser lined up to battle the girls from Ohio and all three had their best meet of the season. Ava Jefferis lead the way for the Indians running a season best 22:56 and placing 47th. Jefferis beat her previous season best by 29 seconds. Campbell Kerns and Kara Walser were both on pace to set new PRs but were unfortunately stopped with 300m to go so they could start the JV race to beat the possible bad weather. As a coach this was tough because multiple girls were unable to finish and unfortunate because no one was made aware prior to the race. Overall it was the teams best meet of the year and look to continue the momentum as they prepare for their first home meet of the year. The teams are back in action next Saturday September 7th for the Coach Noffsinger Memorial Invitational. Girls run at 9:30 Boys run at 10:00 JH Girls run at 10:30 JH Boys run at 11:00
