Indians run best meet of the year at Southern Invite

The Indians traveled to Randolph Southern for the Small School Invitational and had their best over all races of the year! Good practices and positive attitudes this week set the tone for how today was going to be. Ava Jefferis got it started for the Indians as she took 40 seconds off of her previous season best time and placed 33rd with a time of 24:31. Ava continues to battle each race with her friends and fellow runners from Winchester and Monroe Central. In the Boys race Conner Walser unhooked the trailer and ran to a 3rd place finish with a time of 17:46. Today was also a huge day mentally for Walser as it was the first time since September 18, 2021 that he has been in the 17 minute range because of his injury. Conner Cline placed 57th with a time of 21:58 after being sick during the week. When Cline is healthy he runs solid and has one of the better kicks you will see at our meets. Josiah Bowers once again set a new PR running a 24:12 and placing 86th for the Indians. Bowers has taken off 8 minutes from his first race last season to today. Gavin Elmore has came along way in his first three meets. Gavin finished 93rd for the Indians with a time of 25:23. Gavin has taken nearly a minute off of his time since his first meet on September 3rd. The boys were without Scott O'Connor today and were unfortunately unable to be scored for the team results. The Indians are back in action on Tuesday as they once again travel to Union County for the Union County Invitational.
