The Indians hosted the 4th Annual Coach Noffsinger Invitational on Saturday and ran well despite the heat becoming a factor towards then end of the meet. Conner Cline and Ava Jefferis were the top finishers on the day for the Indians while there was a lot of great performances as well in the Jr High meet for the up and coming Indians. In the Girls race Ava Jefferis continued her good season as she crossed the finish line in 33rd for the Indians and running near her best time of the year. In the Boys race Conner Cline, Gavin Elmore and Josiah Bowers had to carry the workload as the Indians were without Conner Walser and Scott "Going Camping" O'Connor. The Indians will be back to a full team on Tuesday at Union County. Conner Cline had his best meet of the young season running a 21:02 and crossing the finish line in 39th place. Cline has taken 1:31 off of his time over the last three meets as we begin to head towards courses that he has done very well at. Running in his first high school meet Gavin Elmore showed that he can come from behind at any point on the course coming from behind and passing fellow teammate Josiah Bowers in the last half mile. Gavin finished 73rd for the Indians with a time of 26:16. Josiah Bowers continued to make huge strides from last year as he took off 1:54 seconds from the time he ran on our course last year. Josiah ran a solid race for the Indians crossing the finish line in 74th with a time of 26:28. The Indians are back in action on Wednesday at Union County as they take on Union County, Winchester and Monroe Central with the girls running at 5:30 followed by the boys race.
