JH Boys Basketball - Game Summary

By Bruce Davison | Jan 2, 2024 11:21 AM

The JH Boys traveled to MV over the Holiday in a cross town match-up. The 8th grade score: MV: 42, UC 32. Winning and improving on a team sport is fueled by everyone's sacrifice. It is noteworthy to recognize some great teammates, Landon Crabtree, Jose Jimenez-Ulloa and Jordan Hylton. Their desire for the team's success is far greater than their desire for individual success. The Indians were led in scoring by Dylan Shinaver with 13 points, including high percentage of 3 point shooting. Dash Thacker was back in action after recovering from an injury and made his presence known by adding 7 points and as the floor general. Jadden Lopez-Forsythe, Tayson Barbour and Liam Conley are among the most improved players this season. They consistently demonstrate the desire to improve. Cale Holt added 8 points, led the team in rebounds and block shots. Cale is among the most consistent student athletes, which requires a mindset of operating at a higher standard. This basketball season is a journey where you learn to love the process as much as the result. I am proud of the team because their growth has been a result of a lot of small things done well. The next game for the JH Boys is Tuesday, January 9 at home vs. Bluffton @ 6:00 pm.
