The Indian Cross Country teams were in action on Saturday at the Randolph Southern Invitational and continued run well like they have all season. Each meet this season both teams have showed that they are working harder and Saturday was no different as each runner beat their time that they ran last season at the invite. The boys were first to line up and once the gun sounded it was Conner Walser leading the Indians around the baseball field and towards the first mile. Walser stayed with the lead pack throughout the race was in 3rd place after two miles and continued to work towards making his way back to the front but ran out of time. Walser crossed the finish line in 3rd place with a time of 17:34 and his best time of the season. Levi Clark was the next Indian to cross the finish line and after battling illness and alergies the last couple of weeks he was back feeling good and ran his second best time of the year as he finished 42nd place with a time of 20:31. Levi was also the 3rd best freshman from the county to finish. Conner Cline was the third finishing Indian placing 54th with a time of 21:19. Cline has been running well all season and Saturday was no different as he took forty seconds off of his time from last season. Once again Conner was able to pass runners with 200m left to gain some spots with his kicking speed. After not feeling well last week Scott O'Connor was back to running well as he crossed the line in 88th place with a time of 24:01. Scotty was on the gas for the first mile as he was running in the top 30 with Clark and Cline behind him. The fast start helped him run one of his best times of the season. In the girls race Ava Jefferis once again running down a dream as she ran her second fastest race of her career. Ava was able to finish 14 places better and take nearly two minutes off of her time from last season. Ava crossed the finish line in 19th place with a time of 22:44. With a healthy Jefferis and the progress she has made each meet she will be tough to deal with as the season progresses! The Indians are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Union County for the Union County Invitational with the boys race starting at 6:00pm.
