The boys and girls Cross Country teams traveled to Union on Tuesday for the Ethan Cheeseman Memorial Invitational and ran well to get the season started. Ava Jefferies started where she left off last season taking nearly a minute off of her time that she ran last season. Ava ran a great race from start to finish for the Indians crossing the line in 16th place with a time of 26:58.5. In the Boys race Conner Walser was the top runner for the Indians placing 11th for the Indians with a time of 19:39.2. It was great to see Conner towards the front after he was injured last year during the county meet and working to get back to where he was before his injury. Conner Cline also ran towards the front for the Indians throughout the first two miles before battles stomach cramps and crossing the finish line in 33rd place with a time of 22:28.6. Josiah Bowers made the biggest improvement on his time from last season finishing 48th with a time of 27:07.1. Five minutes faster than he was to start the season last year. The Indians will be at Monroe Central Saturday for the Meister Family Memorial Run beginning at 10:00am.
