🎾 Triton Places Second at Warsaw Invitational

WARSAW — Triton’s boys tennis team earned a runner-up finish at the Warsaw Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12. Warsaw captured the team championship, while Triton finished second in the six-team field. The Trojans recorded four top-four finishes across the five individual flights, led by runner-up performances at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles. Junior Levi McFarland placed second at No. 3 singles. He won both of his preliminary matches, defeating Chesterton 6-4, 6-2 and Columbia City 6-4, 6-1, before falling to Crown Point in the championship match. Triton’s No. 2 doubles combination of sophomore Camden Large and juniors Brady Heckaman and Clayton Andrews also finished second. The Trojans won both preliminary matches, defeating Chesterton 6-4, 6-2 and East Noble 7-5, 5-7, 10-8. Senior Colton Large placed third at No. 2 singles, while juniors Max Johnson and Brayden Nifong finished fourth at No. 1 doubles. Senior Max Ritchison rounded out Triton’s lineup with a fifth-place finish at No. 1 singles. Team Results 1. Warsaw 2.
