ELKHART — The Triton varsity volleyball team battled back twice before defeating Elkhart Christian Academy in five sets Tuesday night, 15-25, 25-13, 17-25, 25-12, 15-11. After dropping the opening set 25-15, the Lady Trojans responded emphatically with a 25-13 victory in the second. Elkhart Christian regained the advantage by taking the third set 25-17, leaving Triton one set away from defeat. The Lady Trojans answered again, dominating the fourth set 25-12 to force a decisive fifth. Triton carried that momentum into the final set and secured the hard-fought victory, 15-11. Sophomore Analeigh Na delivered an outstanding all-around performance, leading Triton with 24 kills. She also collected 25 digs, distributed 13 assists and served three aces. Freshman Avery Wright added 14 kills while contributing 23 digs, four aces and two blocks. Junior Sophie Howell directed Triton’s offense with a team-high 31 assists and led the Lady Trojan defense with 26 digs. Senior Lydia Hammond and Wright led Triton from the service line with four aces apiece. Junior Savannah Hawley, Wright and junior Kiyliyen Fear shared the team lead at the net with two blocks each.
