PLYMOUTH — Triton Baseball closed out the regular season Tuesday night with a 6-1 loss to Plymouth in the final regular-season game for both teams. Despite the loss, the night featured a historic milestone for Triton senior Braxton Kaufman. Kaufman ripped the 25th double of his career, breaking the previous school record of 24 career doubles held by Scott Blackford. Plymouth broke the game open early, collecting seven hits in the second inning to build a 6-0 advantage. The Pilgrims were led offensively by Parker Wolfe, who finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Brayden Shively added a two-run double, while Mason Gantz and Ethan Hall each drove in a run. Triton starter Kaufman took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits over three innings while striking out three. Drew Bingamon was dominant in relief, tossing three shutout innings and striking out five while allowing just one hit. The Trojans were limited to six hits by Plymouth pitcher Adrian Macias, who went the distance to earn the win. Macias struck out three and walked two over seven innings. Triton broke through in the seventh inning to avoid the shutout. Max Johnson tripled and later scored on an RBI groundout by Blake Ousley. Bingamon, Levi McFarland, Kaufman, Johnson, Maddox Dennie and Trey Tarlton each recorded one hit for Triton. Kaufman added his record-breaking double, while Johnson tripled and scored the Trojans’ lone run. Plymouth finished with eight hits and played error-free defense. Triton also committed no errors in the contest.
