BOURBON — Triton made its final home game of the season a memorable one Thursday night, rallying for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Wawasee 5-4 on Senior Night. The Trojans honored their senior baseball players — Drew Bingamon, Braxton Kaufman and Maddox Dennie — before the game, then closed the night with a dramatic extra-inning victory at Ken Keller Field. Triton took the first lead of the game with two runs in the bottom of the third inning and held Wawasee scoreless through the first five frames. Bingamon was strong on the mound, working seven innings and striking out 11 while allowing five hits, two earned runs and no walks. Wawasee tied the game with two runs in the sixth, then pushed across two more in the top of the eighth to take a 4-2 lead. Triton answered in the bottom half, putting together a three-run rally to walk off with the win. Levi McFarland led the Triton offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Jadyn Prater finished 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Brayden Gunnels went 2-for-3 with a run. Blake Ousley added a double and an RBI, Maddox Dennie had a hit and scored, and Bingamon added a hit and a stolen base. Braxton Kaufman drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and earned the win in relief, pitching the eighth inning and striking out one. Wawasee was led by Kyhan Heisler, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Mason Mckibben doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Everett Guy added a hit and a run, while Luke Lehman had a hit and a stolen base.
