WINAMAC — Drew Bingamon made Triton baseball history Thursday night. The senior right-hander broke the school’s all-time career strikeout record during Triton’s 5-0 road victory over Winamac, surpassing Todd Blackford’s previous mark of 295 career strikeouts. Bingamon finished the night with 11 strikeouts, giving him 302 and counting for his career. Bingamon’s record-breaking performance came in dominant fashion as he fired a complete-game three-hit shutout, allowing just one walk over seven innings while needing only 81 pitches to finish off the Warriors. After two scoreless innings, Triton broke through in the top of the third with a four-run frame. Levi McFarland and Bingamon each collected two hits in the contest, while Maddox Dennie delivered the biggest swing offensively with a two-hit, three-RBI night. Braxton Kaufman added a hit and RBI, and Max Johnson scored a run while also swiping a base for the Trojans. Triton finished with nine hits and took advantage of four Winamac defensive errors. Winamac managed only three hits on the evening, coming from Ethan Budka, Hayden Martin, and Xavier Adriano. Martin took the loss despite pitching a complete game for the Warriors.
