PLYMOUTH — The Triton Trojans traveled to Plymouth on Friday night for a double dual meet that ultimately turned into a head-to-head competition, as Oregon-Davis did not field a team. Plymouth used its depth across the track to secure the team victory over Triton, winning the majority of running events while the Trojans found success in key field events and distance races. Plymouth set the tone early in the 100-meter dash, placing three runners ahead of Triton’s Tyler Painton, who finished fourth in 12.34 . The Pilgrims continued their strong showing in the 200, where Jordan Gast won in 23.88, while Triton’s Cayden Bradley placed third with a time of 24.45. In the 400, Triton’s Jackson Faulkner delivered one of the team’s top performances of the night, finishing second in 59.74 behind Plymouth’s William Ogilvie (57.32) . Plymouth also controlled the distance events. Aidan Faulstich narrowly won the 800 in 2:11.10, while Freddy Kallenberg swept both the 1600 (5:28.55) and 3200 (11:48.53) to lead the Pilgrims’ distance group. Triton’s biggest highlight came in the field events, where senior Cameron Callahan won the long jump with a mark of 19-8. Callahan also placed second in the high jump at 5-8, giving the Trojans valuable points. Faulkner added another strong performance with a third-place finish in the long jump to go along with his runner-up finish in the 400. Triton picked up its lone relay victory in the 4x800, finishing first in 9:20.55 to hold off Plymouth . Plymouth claimed wins in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Plymouth’s Ethan O’Leary swept the hurdle events, winning the 110 hurdles in 16.65 and the 300 hurdles in 48.56. Triton’s Vinny Prater (second in the 110 hurdles) and Brady Heckaman (second in the 300 hurdles) kept the Trojans competitive in both events. In the throwing events, Plymouth controlled the top spots in both discus and shot put. Triton’s top finishes came from Vinny Prater in discus and Max Ritchison in shot put.
