BOYS TENNIS VS. GREENFIELD (9/3)

TC BOYS TENNIS FALLS TO GREENFIELD. The Triton Central boys tennis team fell at home Wednesday night, dropping a 4-1 decision to Greenfield-Central. The Tigers’ lone varsity win came at No. 1 doubles, where the duo of Max Crouse and Caleb McGuire battled through a back-and-forth contest to earn a 6-2, 1-6, 10-2 victory over Kasen Jarnecke and Jacob Welch. Greenfield-Central controlled the singles courts. Nathan Roberts defeated Janssen Capps 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Alex Michalek topped Brayden Hoover 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Andrew White rounded out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Bradyn Robinson at No. 3 singles. In doubles play, Greenfield’s Ethan Ortwein and Raleigh Gantt secured the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles against Triton Central’s Drayton Kermode and Graham Gast. The JV matchup also went in Greenfield-Central’s favor, 4-2. Triton Central picked up wins from Cash Eck at No. 2 singles and the pairing of Jason Gregory and Hyatt Watson at No. 3 doubles. Triton Central’s varsity record now stands at 5-3 on the season. The Tigers are back in action tonight when they travel to Decatur Central. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
