TC VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS BEECH GROVE IN CONFERENCE OPENER. Triton Central volleyball made a strong statement in its Hoosier Legends Conference debut Tuesday night, sweeping Beech Grove in straight sets at home. The Tigers rolled to a 3-0 varsity victory, taking the first two sets convincingly before outlasting the Hornets in a tight third. Set scores were 25-6, 25-15, 27-25. Junior Lucy May powered the offense with 16 kills to pace Triton Central, while Alaina Darlage sparked from the service line with 5 aces and added 7 digs defensively. Maryrose Felling distributed 14 assists, and Gwyn Williams chipped in 4 aces and 6 digs to round out a balanced team effort. With the win, Triton Central improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. In the junior varsity match, the Tigers also came away with a sweep, defeating Beech Grove 25-11, 25-17. Elly May and Maecy Cord each tallied 4 kills, while Anna Kemper dished out 13 assists. TC’s serving proved dominant as the JV squad racked up 16 aces as a team. The victory moved the JV record to 2-2 (1-0 HLC). The Tigers are right back in action tonight, traveling to Indian Creek for another conference showdown starting at 5:30 PM. It marks the first matchup between Triton Central and Indian Creek since the formation of the new Hoosier Legends Conference this school year.
