VOLLEYBALL VS. SHELBYVILLE (9/3)

TC VOLLEYBALL WINS FIVE-SET THRILLER AT SHELBYVILLE. The Triton Central volleyball team picked up another big Hoosier Legends Conference victory Thursday night, battling to a 3-2 road win over Shelbyville in a five-set thriller. The Tigers came out strong, edging Shelbyville 27-25 in the opening set. TC continued its momentum in the second set, earning a 25-19 victory to take a 2-0 lead. Shelbyville fought back in the third set, winning 25-23, before taking the fourth set 25-22 to even the match at two sets apiece and force a decisive fifth set. Triton Central saved its best for last, pulling away in the final set for a convincing 15-8 victory to secure the 3-2 match win. Lucy May led the Tigers' offensive attack with an impressive 21 kills, while Anna Kemper orchestrated the offense with 56 assists. Ashlyn Hittle was a force at the net, recording 10 solo blocks. Alaina Darlage anchored the defensive effort with 28 digs, while Kemper and Addy Wright each contributed two aces. The victory moves Triton Central to 8-3 overall and keeps the Tigers perfect in Hoosier Legends Conference play at 4-0. The TC JV squad also continued its unbeaten conference run, sweeping Shelbyville 2-0. The Tigers won both sets by identical 25-18 scores. Ryn West led TC with seven kills, while Ella Weaver recorded 15 assists. Addy Wright contributed seven digs and three aces, and Kenzie Hoover added a solo block. The JV victory improves Triton Central to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in HLC play. The Tigers will return to action Tuesday night when they travel to Tri-West for another HLC matchup. The JV match is scheduled to begin at 6 PM, with the varsity match to follow. With both squads remaining undefeated in conference play, Triton Central will look to keep its HLC momentum rolling against Tri-West.
