BOYS TENNIS VS. GREENFIELD (9/2)

TC BOYS TENNIS FALLS TO GREENFIELD 3-2. Triton Central boys tennis battled Greenfield Central on the road Wednesday night but came up just short, falling 3-2. The loss moves the Tigers to 7-3 on the season. The Tigers split the three singles matches, with Bradyn Robinson and Drayton Kermode picking up victories. Robinson continued his strong season at No. 2 singles, defeating Raleigh Gantt, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Kermode battled back after dropping the opening set to Nash Berty, winning 2-6, 7-6(4), 10-8 in a hard-fought three-set match. Greenfield Central earned its first point at No. 1 singles, where Nathan Roberts defeated Brayden Hoover, 6-1, 6-1. The Cougars also claimed both doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Jacob Welch and Andrew White defeated Graham Gast and Cash Eck, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, Kayden Green and Jackson Herrin defeated Colton Ayres and Owen Rice, 6-1, 6-2. JV Tigers Fall in 5-4 Battle The Triton Central JV squad also found itself in a competitive match Wednesday, falling to Greenfield 5-4. The loss drops the Tigers to 3-3-1 on the season. Triton Central won three of the six singles matches. Brylon Scott defeated Alessandro Sanchez, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, while Jason Gregory picked up a 7-5 victory over Grayson Cary at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Hyatt Watson delivered a dominant 6-0 shutout of Jack McKee. Greenfield answered with wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. The Cougars also won two of the three doubles matches, with Luke Dunn and Robbie Brown earning the Tigers' lone doubles victory, defeating Mason Bown and Yug Patel, 6-3. Despite the two losses Wednesday, Triton Central will have an opportunity to bounce back quickly as both teams return to action Thursday. The Tigers travel to Shelbyville on Thursday for a Hoosier Legends Conference matchup. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM.
