BOYS TENNIS VS. FRANKLIN (9/1)

TC BOYS TENNIS FALLS AT FRANKLIN. Triton Central boys tennis saw its three-match winning streak come to an end Tuesday night, falling to Franklin Community 3-2 on the road. The Tigers are now 7-2 on the season. Triton Central picked up its two team points in singles play. Brayden Hoover earned a victory over Franklin Community's Oliver Wiltz at No. 1 singles, while Bradyn Robinson defeated Corbin Booth at No. 2 singles. Franklin Community answered with a win at No. 3 singles, as Caleb Shoup defeated Drayton Kermode, 6-1, 6-3. The Grizzly Cubs also claimed both doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Carsten Bland and David Strait defeated Graham Gast and Colton Ayres, 6-2, 6-3. The No. 2 doubles match went down to the wire, with Vincent Flowers and Conner Alsip defeating Owen Rice and Cash Eck, 6-7(7), 6-2, 10-6. Despite the team loss, the Tigers remain off to a strong 7-2 start to the season and will look to bounce back Wednesday. JV Tigers Drop 3-1 Decision The Triton Central JV team also suffered a setback Tuesday, falling to Franklin Community 3-1. The Tigers are now 3-2-1 on the season. Jason Gregory provided Triton Central's lone team point at No. 2 singles, cruising past Julian Meier, 6-0, 6-3. Franklin Community picked up wins at No. 1 singles and both doubles positions. Jack Nelson defeated Brylon Scott at No. 1 singles, while Austin Kinnett and Kail Zulkowski defeated Hyatt Watson and AJ Wittman at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Cooper Schmidt and Jackson Tiemeyer defeated Luke Dunn and Robbie Brown, 6-2, 6-2. The Tigers will have another quick turnaround as they look to get back in the win column. Triton Central travels to Greenfield on Wednesday, with the match scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM.
