TC BOYS TENNIS BEAT TRI-WEST, STAY UNBEATEN IN HLC. Triton Central boys tennis continued its impressive run through the Hoosier Legends Conference Monday night, traveling to Tri-West and earning a 4-1 victory. The win moves the Tigers to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in HLC play. Triton Central dominated singles play, sweeping all three matches. At No. 1 singles, Brayden Hoover turned in another strong performance, defeating Tri-West's Eric Dean, 6-1, 6-1. Bradyn Robinson followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Wyatt McMillan at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Drayton Kermode completed the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Connor Smith. Tri-West earned its lone point at No. 1 doubles, where Michael Gibson and Kyle Dean defeated Colton Ayres and Graham Gast in a competitive three-set match, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. The Tigers secured the team victory with a hard-fought win at No. 2 doubles. Owen Rice and Cash Eck battled past Colton Losh and Landry Slagle, 7-6(5), 6-4. JV Tigers Fall in Close Match Triton Central's JV squad battled Tri-West but came up just short, falling 3-2. The loss drops the Tigers to 3-1-1 overall and 2-1 in HLC play. Tri-West earned victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Brylon Scott and Robbie Brown earned an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles, while Jason Gregory and Hyatt Watson closed out the JV matches with an 8-3 win at No. 4 doubles. Despite the JV setback, the varsity Tigers continue to roll through conference play and will have another quick turnaround. Triton Central travels to Franklin Community on Tuesday for its next match. The varsity match is scheduled to begin at 5 PM.
