TC BOYS TENNIS BEATS DECATUR CENTRAL IN SEASON OPENER. Triton Central boys tennis opened the 2026 season in impressive fashion Tuesday night, sweeping Decatur Central, 5-0, at home. With the victory, the Tigers begin the season 1-0. Triton Central's singles lineup set the tone for the night, winning all three matches in straight sets. At No. 1 singles, Brayden Hoover cruised past Decatur Central's RJ Ison, 6-0, 6-1. Bradyn Robinson followed with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Jayden Martin at No. 2 singles, while Drayton Kermode defeated Maverick Southerland, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 3 singles. The Tigers also came through in both doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Graham Gast and Colton Ayres battled past Caleb Throop and Tylor Collins, 7-6(5), 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, Owen Rice and Cash Eck earned a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory over Cash Hollingsworth and Jackson Imel. The Tigers' JV squad also got the season off to a winning start, defeating Decatur Central, 8-2, to move to 1-0 on the year. Brylon Scott and Hyatt Watson picked up singles victories for the Tigers, while Triton Central's doubles teams collected six wins. Scott and Jason Gregory won twice, while Luke Dunn and Robbie Brown also recorded two victories. Watson and AJ Wittman added a doubles win, and Gregory and Wittman teamed up for another victory. With both the varsity and JV teams starting the season 1-0, Triton Central will quickly turn its attention to Hoosier Legends Conference play. The Tigers will host Indian Creek on Wednesday at 5:30 PM in their HLC opener as they look to carry Tuesday night's momentum into conference competition.
