TC VOLLEYBALL OPENS SEASON WITH WIN OVER WHITELAND. The Triton Central volleyball program opened the 2026 season in strong fashion Monday night, with both the varsity and JV squads earning victories over Whiteland at home. The varsity Tigers battled their way to a 3-1 victory, winning the opening set 25-19. Whiteland answered with a 25-10 win in the second set, but Triton Central bounced back to take the third set 25-22 before closing out the match with a convincing 25-14 victory in the fourth set. TC received strong contributions throughout the lineup. Anna Kemper led the Tigers with 29 assists, while Lucy May recorded 12 kills. Addy Gibbs added seven kills and five blocks, while Kate Collier and Alaina Darlage each recorded four digs. Savanna Plew also contributed two aces. With the victory, the varsity Tigers begin the season 1-0. The Triton Central JV squad also picked up a season-opening win, sweeping Whiteland 2-0. The Tigers took the first set 25-15 before finishing off the match with a 25-20 victory in the second set. Maecy Cord led the way with nine aces and four kills, while Ella Weaver finished with eight assists. Kaylynn Alexander contributed six digs, and Addy Wright recorded two kills. The JV Tigers also begin the season with a 1-0 record. Both teams will return to action Tuesday night when Triton Central hosts Indian Creek in the Tigers' Hoosier Legends Conference opener. The JV match is scheduled for 5:30 PM, with the varsity match to follow at 6:30 PM. After a successful opening night, the Tigers will look to carry their momentum into conference play.
