TC SOFTBALL FALLS TO GREENFIELD. Triton Central softball returned to action Monday night against Greenfield-Central Cougars softball, with both the varsity and junior varsity teams battling but ultimately coming up short. At home, the Triton Central Tigers softball varsity squad fell 9-3 in a competitive contest. With the loss, Triton Central varsity moves to 0-2 on the season. On the road, the JV Tigers were involved in a high-scoring game but dropped a 19-13 decision to Greenfield-Central. Triton Central’s offense found its stride, producing 13 runs, but the Cougars were able to outlast the Tigers in a back-and-forth matchup. The JV team also falls to 0-2 on the year. Both teams will look to bounce back quickly as they return to the field Tuesday night. The varsity Tigers are set to host Eastern Hancock Royals softball at 5:30 PM, while the JV squad will travel to take on Rushville Lions softball with a 5:30 PM first pitch.
