TC GIRLS BASKETBALL SWEEPS SPEEDWAY. Triton Central rolled past Speedway in both varsity and junior varsity girls basketball action Tuesday night. The varsity Tigers jumped out early and never looked back in a 64-15 Hoosier Legends Conference win. Triton Central raced to a 23-2 lead after one quarter, stretched the margin to 40-6 by halftime, and continued to control the tempo the rest of the way. Maryrose Felling led all scorers with 21 points. Quinn King added 10 points, while Cheyenne Allen chipped in seven. Triton Central’s balance was evident as 11 different players found the scoring column, including Kate Collier (6), Rylee Pruitt (6), Madison Swisher (4), Lexi Eubanks (3), Layla Compton (2), Peyton Fillippinie (2), Anna Kemper (2), and Ryn West (1). With the win, the Tigers improved to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the Hoosier Legends Conference. Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity squad followed a similar script, pulling away for a 43-17 win. After a slow start, Triton Central settled in to take a 20-7 lead at halftime and widened the gap to 26-9 after three quarters. Anna Kemper paced the JV Tigers with nine points, while Hayden McMichael and Eliana Joy each added eight. Ryn West contributed six points, and Triton Central again showed its depth with nine players scoring. The JV Tigers improved to 8-2 overall and a perfect 2-0 in conference play. Triton Central returns to action Wednesday night at home, hosting Southwestern. The JV game is scheduled for 6 PM, followed by the varsity contest at 7 PM.
